Description

Judge William Stephens wrote from Savannah, Georgia to Susan Niemcewicz in Elizabethtown, New Jersey. Judge Stephens enclosed a bill for $250, drawn for the house of McGee and Howard of Savannah, in favor of Mr. Pelot, on the house of William Howard and Company of New York. On the verso, Susan added a note asking if Williams would direct her on how to proceed with the information Judge Stephens referred to in his letter. Beneath Susan’s note, Williams informed her that he would take charge of the bill and return it to her, if accepted, either with cash or a direct deposit in the bank.
