Sarah Sabina Kean wrote from Butternuts, Otsego County, NY to John Rutherfurd, her uncle, addressed to Edgerston, near Belleville, NJ. She wrote that she was shocked to hear of the death of Mary Ricketts. She knew she should return to Elizabeth Town, but felt that in her current state of health she would just be a burden.
