Abstract
The population of the world is escalating rapidly, and hence, the necessity of food production is a very serious concern these days. Agricultural productivity can be enhanced by using artificial intelligence. In recent days, many jobs have been replaced by robots, drones and expert systems, but robotics require much more artificial intelligence and advanced programming to replace all the work of farmers. Since the system will not be able to handle the situation effectively as humans, there is less possibility for the system to replace human work completely. Instead of a complete replacement, they can complement each other. The objective of this paper is to discuss some of the problems faced by the farmers, how artificial intelligence is used in the agricultural sector, need for weather predictions and proposed algorithm for irrigation.
