Abstract

Univariate exponential distribution is a useful statistical model in many applications. To model complex systems, it is necessary to extend the univariate exponential distribution to higher dimensions. Thus far, several bivariate extensions of exponential distribution have been proposed. In this paper, we systematically review those extensions and investigate some other meaningful ones. We give the characterizations for most extended bivariate exponential distributions and clarify the general form of bivariate exponential distributions. © Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
