Abstract

The growth of family work and family therapy has been a slow process outside of America. Family therapists in their homeland have to deal with the lack of training, resources, political red tape, ethnic differences, and language barriers to continue the work of family therapy. This article resolves to help readers to understand the diversity and the impact foreign therapists have in their own country and hopefully gain new respect for family therapy around the globe. © 2005, Sage Publications.
