John Grimke wrote from Charleston, South Carolina to Susan U. Niemcewicz in Elizabethtown, New Jersey. Grimke informed Susan that he received a duplicate of her letter from October 30^th. The Secretary of the Catawba Company, Mr. Tew, acted in conformity to the Directors of the Proprietors because it became necessary to know who meant to remain members of the Catawba Company and to collect annual sums. Had no doubt that the Directors would agree to extend the deadline. If not, Grimke would endeavor to advance the sum that appeared to be her balance.
