Description

A legal document for the sale of an Enslaved Woman named Jude, about 23 years old, and an infant boy named Thomas, 8 months and 4 days. Caleb O. Halsted, from the Township of Elizabeth, NJ, sold both to Luther Bonnell, of Springfield, NJ. It stated that Thomas was his [Bonnell's] to manumit.
