Description
Several letters written by Peter Kean from Ursino in Elizabethtown, New Jersey, and New York. Letters focus on financial matters, Philosophy, and news on marriage. In a letter to William Jay, Peter asked him to visit him in Elizabethtown, New Jersey because he wanted to return the civilities he received from William at Bedford, New York (John Jay Homestead in Katonah, New York.) Peter also outlined the reasons he was supporting James Madison in the Presidential Election of 1812 although Peter considered himself a “Northern Federalist).
