Abstract

During WWII, campus librarian Nancy Thompson wrote letters to the men and women (students, alumni, and faculty members) who served in the war effort. 180 people wrote back, many of who addressed her with humor and affection. She diligently filed 800+ of their responses. Kean University Honors History students and other campus groups worked together to make the collection accessible online. Use the spreadsheet for names, dates, and service branches of the letter writers.
