Robert Winthrop Kean, New Jersey - Republican, was elected to the Seventy-sixth and the nine succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1959). He was a member of the Ways and Means Committee and the House Banking and Currency Committee. Kean’s papers include records of public service, correspondence with peers and constituents, printed material and memorabilia documenting his career as a member of the United States Congress, material related to his campaign for the United States Senate in 1958, as well as family letters during World War I, and personal business accounts.
