Hereas the Committee on Banking and Currency has jurisdiction of legislation affecting the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; and Whereas the reputation for impartial, nonpolitical, fair dealing by the Corporation, which affects the very life of banking institutions and through them the economic life of every individual, must be maintained; and, Whereas serious charges have been made as to the Corporation’s activities in Jersey City, New Jersey, which reflect on the integrity of the Corporation; and Whereas the truth or falsehood of such charges must be established: Therefore be it.
