Description

The SDGs are the world’s blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all, yet there is little to no integration of education for sustainable development (ESD) in mainstream higher education textbooks. This leaves many graduates to enter the workplace without the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to address today’s global challenges. Open Educational Resources (OER) provide a way to curate curriculum and design courses that fill the gap in competencies and ready students to help solve today’s social and environmental issues. This presentation will cover ESD in higher education by evaluating the current state, imagining a new way, innovating with OER, and implementing the changes.
